Economists say the gas tax repeal only helps big oil. Pay the damn debt off, and get out of Iraq foos!

Pictures of Hiroshima. Rare ones. I am reading about WWII now, and finding out that we really did not need to drop those bombs. Japan was talking about surrender.

A very good article about how the media has changed its coverage of politicians. Less substance, more ‘Dancing Obama’.

Historical Inflation Data. Wow, inflation has not really changed in 20 years. Still low, and under control. Hmm. Ahem - who the hell do they think they are kidding? Here is an interesting site from a guy who claims to have good credentials and offers charts and graphs showing what he feels are the real CPI and Inflation statistics for the US - and according to him, inflation is much higher than reported.

Top 10 Health Foods we never eat. Cabbage? I knew cabbage was low calorie, but didn’t think it was high on the healthy list…

Holy FOOKING SHIT BATMAN! McCain drops the bomb, and admits the Iraq war is for oil. Of course this will get spun and covered, but we all know what he meant.

This is a very good article talking about the possible causes of the Great Depression. Awhile back I was convinced that the Depression was all part of a vast conspiracy… but I think becoming paranoid and looking for a huge conspiracy behind everything is part of a natural reaction to finding out most of the shit you have heard all of your life is false. That being said - I would still bet that Bush was behind 9/11. And there is truth behind the theories. Pearl Harbor was not planned… but Japan was provoked in multiple ways, ultimately by US economic sanctions that even government officials admitted would likely push Japan to attack us. The Gulf Of Tonkin never happened. The Federal Reserve is a sham, but not like many think, in my opinion. Public Education is not intended to really make free thinking citizens in America. Hmm, what else. Christopher Columbus was an evil, evil man. Americans slaughtered American Indians for 100 years, yet we don’t take responsibility for it like Germany does with Hitler… Most of the Founding Fathers were racist, rich, and didn’t really care about the average citizen. Did you know in the original Constitution, only those who owned land could vote? Interesting that servants, women, slaves, and the poor (if they did not own land) couldn’t vote to help decide their destiny in the Great US of A…

Thank you for posting some very interesting links. A lot of this information just shows what this world is coming to… and a lot of what it is coming to is not good in the least. It’s hard to know whether you should roll your eyes or be frightened at politics and controversial media.

I think I’m making no sense because it is currently after one in the morning!

The Hiroshima pics were very interesting! It is interesting how history gets skewed to fit the story that the government wants to tell. We were led to believe the Truman was our hero for dropping those boms and beating the Japanese into submission. But in reality he just needed to see how they worked.

This picture shows the protest again unemployment. And it impress me much, because we can see arround that so many people are jobless, so we should help them to get jobs.

=/ Wars are never pretty. It’s sad to see so many people are suffering even now due to the atomic bomb from before. With all the radiation I’m not surprised that more people are having cancer.

That is some good view on Hiroshima. I do pity them back when its WWII. Seems like human are becoming worst by the minute. Peace is no longer an issue..

Outside the Box looks at Bill Gross’s recent essay on measuring inflation. How you measure inflation makes a difference not only in social security payments but also in what your real returns on bonds are. As Bill notes, there is a significant difference in how the world measures inflation and how it is done in the US. He gives us some insights that are very thought-provoking.

In the last decade economists regularly argued the CPI over-stated inflation by 1%. Now Gross suggests that it may understate inflation by 1%. This week’s OTB makes for very interesting reading. Bill Gross is managing director of PIMCO. (www.pimco.com)

Oil is getting more and more expensive. Some people who owns a car here are taking public transport instead. It’s good in a way, but also very saddening in another point of view.

Hiroshima at that time, i think that the people living there is pitiful. At that time, when the atomic bombs dropped, many people killed. Even those who survived, they still have to gone under suffering from physical and emotional illness. It makes me feel that people are getting worst, they destroy the earth and don’t you think that the earth is taking revenge on us either? For example, japan and si chuan earthquake and Myanmar Cyclone. Humans didn’t even think of consequences before they act. I feel sad that peace is no longer a issue. I do hope one day, everybody is living in peace and harmony.
