Look religious people are welcome to believe what they want but…

… this stuff irritates the shit out of me.

These kids are being taught that they should listen to what someone tells them, and not look at any evidence. This is dangerous. Shouldn’t we all teach our kids to make up their own minds? Churches wouldn’t want this to happen though, religion would be dead in a generation.

Great guide on how to stupify kids and to tell them -in the same breath - that they are superior because of this “education”.

God, I wish there was a biblical flood coming down right now to flush away the pontiffs of twisted morals.

There’s no doubting the fact that children are impressionable. That is why religion is pumped in to them when they are young. But in saying that they do need some sort of direction.!

The real fear the churches have is when people start thinking for themselves versus being told what is truth. They then lose the ability to control people.

    Cheers.

Wow! I think it is very ignorant to take the bible at face value and proclaim that the earth was formed in 7 days. Now I am not against religion, in fact I have faith in a higher power. But where I differ is I have a very scientific mind. In fact, I believe what science has taught us. Evolution, the big bang, it all makes sense to me. Much more sense than an earth that was created in 7 days and Adam and Eve living with dinosaurs.

It is sad when you push ignorant ideas on children and force them to believe what was forced on you. I am all for the open mind, if people want to believe in a God, then they also need to have a really open mind about other things.

Yes It is true! So, as parent’s we should teach and guide our children always.

Its true that everytime the theoritical knowlege is not to be given and the children’s thoughts must be clear by practical knowledge but in case of religion knowledge, it’s imposible because we all have grown up by listening only about our religion.

It is weird. But it is not about the religion and the church, but about critical thinking, so it is about the proper education of out own children.

    Hey,
    >this stuff irritates the shit out of me.
I kinda feel the same way as you. You shouldn’t teach children at that age such nonsens. Isn’t this what you could call brainwashing?

Have you seen Jesus Camp? It made me afraid for our future in a very different way than I’ve ever been before.

This is the way religion has worked for thousands of years. In countries where more people have started to think for themselves, religion has become less relevant and powerful.

I could not agree more! Religion and (don’t forget) the government, have always been pushing for control over people… And that is just how they want it, so as to remain where they are, where they have the power over us ordinary people. If we don’t think for ourselves, we’ll remain where we are, right where they want us to be in, on the palm of their hands…

I really hate the part of making people blind about religion. No religion support this but people do thing like this only for their personal profit.

Yep. Sick. Anyone read about the kids dying in Oregon because of “Faith Healing” trumping modern medicine?

You wanna cocoon your kids and raise them to be ignorant to the reality of science, I suppose that’s your perogative. At least, at some point, they will become free and hopefully be able to form their own opinions about the real world, as it is today.

But by “god”, you better RAISE your children. Sitting by while they suffer and ultimately die because of bladder and bronchial infections is abuse, neglect and criminal. I hope these Followers of Christ psychoes fry for this shit.
