Some interesting photos.

Apparently kids saluted the flag here in the US before Hitler and WW2, then it was changed to the hand over the heart.
Do other nations pledge allegiance to the flag? So far I can’t find any… except possibly North Korea. Nice. Ever wonder why we happen to be involved in more wars than any other country? Is Patriotism just the door to Nationalism? There is a war going on. For your mind. Chucklechucklechuckle.
The Amnesty International ads are quite impressive.
The photo of the *patriotic* American defending his country from those pesky black people is explained here. As George Carlin would say ‘we only kill brown people.’ Have we ever attacked any country that was predominantly white? A former Texas Governor who was 18 when the Civil Rights Act was passed is now our president. His grandfather made money off of the Nazis, and plotted a fascist coup against the US during the Great Depression.
Nah, no possibility of racial motivations there at all. Just a laid back, easy going guy.
The photo of the guy in the helmet with the orange clogs? No. Friggin. Idea. Weirdest photo I have ever seen on the Internet.
(When you click a thumbnail, it displays a medium sized image. You can click that image to get the full size image. Why Wordpress chose to set up their gallery that way, I have no idea.)

Our teachers here in Germany told us that there is only a thin line between Patriotism and Nationalism and I believe this is true. This doesnt mean that you automatically become a nationalist if you love your country but things like worshipping signs (such as flags) is always a bad idea because such people only see and fight for an idea they dont question.
History is so fascinating! I love to see interesting images from our past. I really like the image of “we’re gonna free the shit out of you.”
Nevermind North Korea, I believe they do it in South Korea as well.
The photo of the US students pre-nazi era makes my mind wonder. If that is 100% true, all I gotta say is wow!
Perhaps Amnesty international’s Advertisement is the best picture among all. With too many horrible reports and stats, they always provide the best stats ever.
That photo with the guy running around almost naked with a helmet is really weird. I would really like to know what that guy is doing there and if you can see in the background there is a fire.

Seeing all these photos just makes me think how screwed up the world is..human’s are not perfect and so therefore they cannot lead a country. There’s always going to be mistakes and bad decisions. That is way it is never good to put your trust in a man/woman. Just my thought.
That photo with the guy walking in his underwear and helmet is one weird pic. Looks like he is strolling through some sort of riot.
Being _for_ your own country is admirable. When it turns to be _anti_ other countries, it can be a problem.
What I dislike is the modern erosion of notions of manliness, tradition, faith, patriotism and selflessness.
When things like this are gone, what’s left? Only consumerism and unfocussed anger.
being patriotic is one thing, and one too many students have seen the harsh side of it.
Yes, the man with the orange clogs is the weirdest picture on the net. And that is saying a LOT.
Interesting photos…I had never heard of the kids doing the Nazi salute (before the Germans demonized it). As for the dude in the orange clogs, that is simply very weird.
To be very true, Amnesty International’s ads are scary and they sucks. Do they do something other than collecting stats(Worst stats)? I am always scared to read their reports and figures.
Really interesting emotional-political photos, thanks. This is history, all this is because somebody think he is god… but this is politics.
