Emergency Operations Centers: the Key to Recovery

Today many diseases strike around the world. These emergencies can be devastating, especially in areas with high populations and few resources. That is why Emergency Operations Centers are the key to recovery. EOCs provide responses to health emergencies. They plan for and oversee containment and provide medical resources. Emergency Operations Centers evaluate and improve response strategies. In the past, EOCs have been crucial in combating Ebola and other epidemics. In fact, EOCs were responsible for the eradication of wild polio in Nigeria. Of course, Emergency Operations Centers cannot act alone. An engaged population and political and public support are vital to EOCs’ successes.
